Itinerary

Day 01 : Airport / Negombo

“AYUBOWAN”

Welcome at the Airport.

Your Ceylon Dream Holidays – Sri Lanka representative will meet you personally on arrival, and you will be introduced to your chauffeur guide.

They will transfer you to your beach hotel for the 1st night in the magical island.

(20 minutes’ drive from the airport)

A day in leisure, and overnight stay in Negombo.

Travel time: 20 minutes

Day 02 : Negombo / Wilpattu

Breakfast at the hotel and travel to Wilpattu.

(The islands largest national park and one of the oldest protected reserves in Sri Lanka, is the home for Sri Lankan Leopard, Sloth bear, elephants, birdlife, and reptiles. Less number of visitors gives Wilpattu a genuine sense of wilderness, making it a place for the more dedicated safari-goer.)

An evening game drive in a dedicated 4×4 to spot and photograph the diverse wildlife.

Overnight stay in Wilpattu at your preferred hotel or tented camp.

Day 03 : Wilpattu / Sigiriya

Enjoy an early morning tea or coffee and head towards an optional morning game drive if you wish.

Check out and travel to Sigiriya after a freshly squeezed seasonal fruit juice and breakfast.

A late afternoon safari at Minneriya national park to witness the “The Gathering”
(Asia’s greatest show of wild elephants – Best: July to September in the dry season as many as 200 or more elephants can be seen gather by the ancient Minneriya tank built by the King Mahasen in the 3rd century AD.)

Overnight stay in Sigiriya in your preferred hotel or resort.

Day 04 : Sigiriya / Knuckles

Visit Sigiriya rock fortress with your specialized guide.

(a UNESCO World Heritage inscribed in 1982. “The enigmatic rocky outcrop of Sigiriya is perhaps Sri Lanka’s single most dramatic sight to visit” – Lonely Planet)

(start at 8:30am from hotel after an early breakfast)

Short break at the hotel and leave Sigiriya to Knuckles mountain range your next destination.

(a UNESCO listed conservation forest which is the home to a higher proportion of the country’s biodiversity.)

Day 05 : Knuckles

Enjoy and early breakfast and head towards an exciting day of hiking and trekking.

hike through shimmering paddy fields, mountain streams and temperate forests to make your way up the magnificent Manigalla mountain, followed by a village-made, traditional Sri Lankan lunch awaits you along the way.

Return to the bungalow and spend the rest of the evening with relaxation.

Day 06 : Knuckles / Kandy

Breakfast at the bungalow and travel to Kandy the hill capital of Sri Lanka.

Check in to your preferred hotel in Kandy and proceed to an afternoon city tour

(Temple of the tooth relic, Upper lake viewpoint, and the City Centre)

An evening of leisure and overnight in the Historic city of Kandy.

Day 07 : Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

After an early Breakfast, travel to Nuwara Eliya the “The Little England” by train.

(The most scenic train ride of Asia through stunning landscapes, lush tea plantations, and mountains.)

If you chose to travel by road, stops by the Ramboda falls for viewing and lunch.

Arrive at your preferred hill country hotel or bungalow and spend rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 08 : Nuwara Eliya / Udawalawa

Early morning (5:30 am) visit to the Horton Plains National Park.

(The montane grassland and cloud forest at an altitude of 2100-2300 meters, rich in biodiversity and home to large herds of Sri Lankan sambar deer and important endemic birds restricted to the region.)

Check out the hotel after returning from the morning hike and start travelling to Udawalawa. You can visit the picturesque hill town of Ella en route.

Day 09 : Udawalawa

Early morning safari game drive at the Udawalawe National Park.

(Established in 1972 the park is island’ 6th largest wildlife reserve, an important habitat for water birds, and Sri Lankan elephants.)

Plan an optional evening safari if you wish.

Return to the hotel and enjoy an afternoon of leisure at the pool followed by a candle lit dinner. Overnight in Udawalawa.

Day 10 : Udawalawe / Yala

After few days in the wild and experienced in Safari now you are ready for the most gratifying wildlife reserve in Sri Lanka, Yala National Park.

Leave Udawalawa after a late breakfast and head south east towards the costal hideout of Yala.

Check in to your preferred resort or the luxury tented camp and spend rest of the day with a dip into a luxurious pool and a walk down the beach.

Day 11 : Yala

Leave for an early morning safari game drive with a packed breakfast to catch and photograph the actions of your wild residents at the sunrise.

(Yala National Park is the most visited and the 2nd largest wildlife reserve in the country, which is the home for Sri Lankan leopard, sloth bear, elephant, rare species of birds and others.)

You may plan and optional evening safari if you’ve missed out a leopard sighting during the morning, to try your luck.

Spend some quality time relaxing between the secluded beach and the pool for rest of the day.

Day 12 : Yala / Galle

It’s time to say goodbye to your jungle hideout and travel to the charming town of Galle one of Sri Lanka’s most alluring seaside retreats.

Arrive at your preferred hotel or villa and spend some time at leisure.

Galle Fort visit in the afternoon with your specialized guide.

(First built in 1588 by the Portuguese and then fortified by the Dutch the UNESCO World Heritage monument boasts a rich history and archaeological treasures for you to explore.)

Day 13 : Galle

A morning of leisure time in Galle for you to roam around and do some shopping.

You may visit the stunning beaches of Unawatuna for the lunch and get ready for the afternoon cycling tour.

Get off the beaten track and cycle through a local village of southern Sri Lanka to a lagoon and mangroves with a specialized guide.

(Explore the biodiversity in the mangrove forest, flora & fauna, coconut trees and lush paddy fields while meeting the locals, witnessing crab catching, and refreshing with a king coconut.)

Day 14 : Galle / Colombo

After almost 2 weeks with wild and nature, leave Galle after breakfast and travel north to Colombo. (One of Asia’s oldest commercial hubs, and current Financial capital of Sri Lanka.)

Arrive at your preferred hotel in Colombo and spend some time in leisure.

Your specialized guide will take you to explore the wonders of Colombo and its historical sites in the evening, followed by;

Our special complementary dinner and treats.

Day 15 : Colombo / Airport

It’s your Last day in Sri Lanka. Though it’s hard to say goodbye, every good thing will see an end.

Proceed with last bit of packing and organizing after breakfast.

Our representative will mee you at the hotel for a final goodbye and initiate your journey back to the airport.
