Itinerary

Day 01 : Airport / Negombo

“AYUBOWAN”

Welcome at the Airport.

Your Ceylon Dream Holidays – Sri Lanka representative will meet you personally on arrival, and you will be introduced to your chauffeur guide.

They will transfer you to your preferred beach hotel for the 1st night in the island.

Overnight stay in Negombo

Travel time: 15 minutes

Day 02 : Negombo / Habarana

You may visit the Negombo fish market and explore the traditional fishing catamarans parked on the beach, after your breakfast.

Travel to Habarana, your destination for next couple of days.

Visit Rangiri Dambulla Cave Temple (UNESCO: 1991 site) en route.

Overnight stay in Habarana or Kandalama based on your preference.

Day 03 : Habarana

Early breakfast and visit Sigiriya rock fortress with your specialized guide.

(a UNESCO World Heritage inscribed in 1982. “The enigmatic rocky outcrop of Sigiriya is perhaps Sri Lanka’s single most dramatic sight to visit” – Lonely Planet)

Travel to Polonnaruwa after descending Sigiriya. You may plan your lunch overlooking the giant man made tank by Giritale Hotel, en route.

Explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa with a cycle ride in your own pace.

(The UNESCO World Heritage site was the 2nd Kingdom of Sri Lanka.)

Travel back to Habarana for overnight stay.

Day 04 : Habarana

A late breakfast at the hotel and head into experience a typical Sri Lankan village at Hiriwadunna.

(The safari SUV ride to the lake, a traditional catamaran ride with a chance to row yourself, a short trek through the paddy fields, and a traditional Sri Lankan lunch at the village house would amaze you with the real culture and nature of a rural Sri Lankan village.)

An afternoon safari at Minneriya national park to witness the “The Gathering”

(Asia’s greatest show of the wild – Best: July to September in the dry season as many as 200 or more elephants can be seen gather by the ancient Minneriya tank built by the King Mahasen in the 3rd century AD.)

Travel back to Habarana for overnight stay.

Day 05 : Habarana / Pinnawala / Kandy

Early Breakfast at the hotel, and travel to Pinnawala for a wonderful time with the Sri Lankan giants in care.

(You may witness the elephant bathing in numbers and their march towards the river, feeding of baby elephants and other activities while touring.)

Travel to Kandy the hill capital of Sri Lanka and the last stronghold of Sinhalese Kingdom, visiting a spice garden en route.

An evening of leisure and overnight in your preferred hotel in Kandy.

Day 06 : Kandy

Enjoy the Kandy city tour, after a late breakfast at the hotel.

(The most sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, Historic Bogambara lake, Upper lake drive, City Centre, and Ebony carving)

Experience an unforgettable traditional Kandyan cultural show in the evening.

An evening of leisure and overnight in Kandy.

Day 07 : Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

After an early breakfast, travel to Nuwara Eliya located in Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and magical region – the hill country.

If you choose the train – you may experience;

(The most scenic train ride of Asia through stunning landscapes, lush tea plantations, and mountains. A ride by local train to Sri Lanka’s Little England is a highlight of any trip to Sri Lanka.)

If you chose to travel by road, you will still drive pass the lush tea plantation and stop to admire the beauty of Ramboda falls for viewing and lunch.

Arrive at your preferred hill country hotel or bungalow and spend rest of the evening at leisure.

Travel time: 5 hours by train / 3 hours by road

Day 08 : Nuwara Eliya

Breakfast at the hotel and visit Pedro tea factory to experience the making of world-famous Ceylon tea, followed by the city tour.

Lunch options at Calamander Lake or at the Grand Indian.

Arrive back at the hotel for an evening of leisure in the hills.

Day 09 : Nuwara Eliya / Yala

After soothing couple of days in the hill country, you may be ready to explore the island’s wild again. After a late breakfast descend the hills and head south east towards the costal hideout of Yala. The most gratifying wildlife reserve in Sri Lanka.

You can visit the picturesque hill town of Ella and plan you lunch en route.

Check in to your preferred resort or the luxury tented camp and spend rest of the day with a dip into a luxurious pool and a walk down the beach.

Day 10 : Yala

Leave for an early morning safari game drive with a packed breakfast to catch and photograph the actions of your wild residents at the sunrise.

(Yala National Park is the most visited and the 2nd largest wildlife reserve in the country, which is the home for Sri Lankan leopard, sloth bear, elephant, rare species of birds and many more.)

You may plan and optional evening safari if you’ve missed out a leopard sighting during the morning, to try your luck.

Spend some quality time relaxing between the secluded beach and the pool for rest of the day

Day 11 : Yala / Galle

It’s time to say goodbye to your jungle hideout and travel to the charming town of Galle one of Sri Lanka’s most alluring seaside retreats.

Arrive at your preferred hotel or villa and spend some time at leisure.

Galle Fort visit in the evening with your specialized guide.

(First built in 1588 by the Portuguese and then fortified by the Dutch the UNESCO World Heritage monument boasts a rich history and archaeological treasures for you to explore.)

Overnight stay in Galle.

Day 12 : Galle

Early breakfast at the hotel and proceed to experience a traditional Sri Lankan cookery class.

(Your personal guide will take you to the market. You will buy your own choice of vegetables and cook your own lunch in traditional Sri Lankan style.)

There on after the heat of the sun has died down in the evening, take a relaxing Village Cycle Ride at your own pace.

The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the Fort, beaches, and the hotel.

Day 13 : Galle / Colombo

After almost 2 weeks touring around the island, you will leave Galle to experience the dazzling city of Colombo.

(One of Asia’s oldest commercial hubs, and current Financial capital of Sri Lanka.)

Visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery for a chance to see sea turtles hatching en route.

Arrive at your preferred hotel in Colombo and spend some time in leisure.

Your specialized guide will take you to explore the wonders of Colombo and its historical sites in the evening, followed by;

Our special complementary dinner and treats.

Day 14 : Colombo / Airport - Katunayake

It’s your Last day in Sri Lanka. Though it’s hard to say goodbye, every good thing will see an end.

Proceed with last bit of packing and organizing after the breakfast.

Our representative will meet you at the hotel for a final goodbye and initiate your journey back to the airport.
